10 Reasons Why I Love The City Of Cleveland!
I believe it's a hidden gem and no longer the "mistake on the lake."
I haven’t traveled a ton, but I have traveled enough to know, Cleveland, Ohio is an awesome city!
We have:
Some of the best parks, trails, and hiking!
Seriously, the Cleveland Metroparks are no joke! Whether you enjoy biking, walking, hiking, or just spending the day outside, there are so many great parks to check out here.
Some of my favorites are:
Brecksville Reservation, North and South Chagrin Reservation, Rocky River, and Cuyahoga Valley.
There are miles upon miles of trails to hit and explore. So, make some time if you live here and take advantage of our extensive park system!
Few things are as therapeutic and emotionally uplifting as getting a good workout hiking through the winding trails. You’ll see our dense forests, waterfalls, rivers, creeks and wildlife. Nothing beats it.
If you travel here, just send me an email and I’ll be your guide!
An incredible variety of food and craft beer.
From Vietnamese cuisine to Russian Imperial Stouts (that’s a strong, dark beer if you do3dn’t know), Cleveland has a thriving food and drink scene in all its suburbs and downtown area.
I was blessed to grow up with parents who appreciated this variety and got me into these things at an early age and I’ve only run with it as I’ve gotten older!
The variety and quality of our food and drink here make me grateful every day I live here. We have many diverse cultures here who are phenomenal cooks.
You’ve got:
Arrabiata’s in Mayfield Heights.
Tay Do Vietnamese in Parma.
Six Flavors Indian Cuisine in Parma.
Bangkok Thai in Mayfield Heights.
Luchitas in Old Brooklyn.
Simply Greek in Solon.
Any restaurant in Ohio City or Tremont!
Platform Beer Company Lakewood.

Ok, I’m done…haha!

A thriving music scene no matter what you like to listen to.
I’m a big music lover. Maybe it’s my Slovak heritage (we love to play music and dance), but either way, we have EVERY type of music scene here. From Christian to Heavy Metal, Blues to Country…Rock and Roll to Hip Hop…you name it, there's someone who will come through town and put on an awesome show for us. Or someone who is already here.
Our venues also rock…from Blossom Music Theater to spots by the Lake such as Jacobs Pavillion at Nautica. Inside our sports amphitheater or at a small local blues club, the music experience is something special here.
A number of beaches to visit during the warmer months.
Edgewater
Mentor-On-The-Lake
Fairport Harbor (my personal favorite)
Sure…dead fish roll up once in a while…haha…but that’s a lot less often than it used to be. Our lake gets cleaner and better by the day.
It brings a smile to my face every time I see families and friends hanging out on the beach, barbecuing, laughing, playing games, and enjoying life.
4th of July Celebrations are even on the beach and I'll tell you what a treat that is.
A sense of community.
We may have our rivalries like East-sider or West-sider, but at the end of the day we're all Clevelanders and we have a lot to be proud of.
Our city gets cleaner, repaired, updated and I just get the sense that people in general care about each other here.
It may not always look that way when you get rained on constantly and you never see the sun, but our positive attitude comes from inside.
Between all the cultural communities here and all the stuff to do and see, you feel part of the city. Especially if you spend a day in an active area.
You see urban farms more often…art and music spring up during the summer months, and people love to exercise here on the nice days.
Everyone is outside when it's a nice day! The metro parks and the city parks everywhere are buzzing with activity and life and it makes you feel great.
Many volunteer opportunities.
If you want to help your community there is so much you can do.
You can volunteer at the Greater Cleveland food bank, Help out in a local cultural festival, pick up trash at the metro parks on your own (my mom does that), or spend the day with animals looking for adoption at the APL (animal protective league).
There is always something or someone you can contribute to. The festivals always need help throughout the year as well.
If you have time and the heart to give you will be pleasantly surprised to find plenty of options here.
With special skills or just a special heart, you can make a difference.
Always innovating and evolving.
Believe it or not, Cleveland is becoming more and more entrepreneurial and open-minded to new, innovative ideas 💡. We may be part of what is known as the “rust belt” but there is a lot of innovation and new talent here.

Our Sports
Now, I’m not even much of a sports fan, but I get the appeal of it.
If you enjoy attending games, talking about sports, or anything sports related you will be right at home here.
It’s fun to catch a game here and there for me. I like watching hockey especially. And they bring a lot of income to our city so I am grateful for that as well.
These are just my reasons why I love living here, read a bunch more below!
